Newsletter - The next edition of the newsletter should be dropping into your email inbox shortly. However, if this doesn't appear in either the inbox or spam folder, then please let us know via the contact us button at the top of the site. In the message, please confirm the email address that all club emails are to be directed to, so that we can make sure that our details are up to date.
Annual General Meeting - this has been scheduled for Tuesday 27th March, with an 8pm start at the hockey pavilion. More details shortly.
Newham Classic 10K - entries open. More info here
Dartford Ten - The details regarding refunds for entries to the Dartford Ten should have been emailed through to all participants. However, if you haven't had them yet, then here they are.
If you are able to run on the 25th March, then you are automatically entered for the new date. Nothing has changed except the date. You will receive a further communication early March with race day arrangements.
If you are unable to run on the 25th March, then you are entitled to apply for a refund.
Refund Applications: Online Entrants
Please send your name (as it appears on your bank account), name of your bank, sort code and account number in reply to this e-mail, and we will refund straight to your account. All details will be destroyed immediately post refund. Only the Race Director, Race Secretary and Club Chair will have access.
Deadline for refund applications is Friday 21st February. We regret that we are unable to refund the £2 runners world charge. This is simply unaffordable to us and whilst some people may be disappointed with us, we hope the majority will recognise that Dartford Road Runners are not a profit making concern overall, and that our ongoing financial viability is needed to exist, to provide affordable access to a running club in our local area, and to stage this event in future years, for the good of the sport as a whole.
Refund Applications: Postal Entrants
If you are unable to run on the 25th March, then please reply to this e-mail

- Name
- Date of Birth (to distinguish between people of the same name)
- Instruction - "Please destroy my cheque" (none of the cheques have been presented yet)
- If you are a carried over entry from 2011, who entered the 2012 race free of charge, but cannot run on March 25th this year, then please state this and we will make alternative arrangements for your refund as we banked your cheque last year.
The deadline for replies is Friday 21st February. At this time we will present the cheques and no refunds will be possible after this date.
Please do NOT just cancel your cheque without telling us. This will just result in further inconvenience to yourself, as we will be phoning you to check whether or not you still wish to run.
We are not carrying any entries forward to 2013.
Sincere thanks for your continuing support for this event. We are determined to keep this event alive moving forwards regardless of increasing regulation, costs and lack of police support on the day.
Colchester Half Marathon If anyone is interested, the Colchester half marathon is taking place on Sunday 11th March. The run will start at 9am (nice and early), and starts at the Weston Homes Community Stadium (home of Colchester United FC). The race website is here
Edinburgh Marathon We are still looking into a club trip to the Edinburgh Marathon/Half Marathon/10k/5km weekend, which is scheduled for the last weekend in May 2012. Updates will be on the next couple of club nights, and on here as well. For more information on the races, a link to the website is here
Green Belt Relay 2012 You may have seen a post from Denis in the shoutbox regarding the Green Belt Relay for this year. The event will take place over the weekend of May 19th & 20th, and the aim is to try and have the team sorted early in the new year, so that we can submit our entry. If you are interested in taking part, then you can check out the race website here for more information about the event or speak to Denis Mole on a club night. A list is already on the club notice board for those who wish to register their interest in taking part.
Halstead Marathon The 2012 edition of this event will take place on May 13th, 2012. There is an amount of money that the club has been given for help provided at the 2011 race, and so we are able to provide subsidies to those who wish to take part. If this is something you wish to enter, then speak to Keith Penfold on a club night, and a link to the race website is here
